Scent Detection Classes/Workshops

 

Scent detection classes are a great way to build a strong working relationship and harness your dog's natural abilities. Any dog can take part in scentwork and you will be amazed at the science behind odour detection and how your dog's nose works.

​

In this foundation course we will cover Scent ID (we will be using gun oil to start with), building motivation in searches, scent discrimination and how to build an indication. Your dog will learn to search pots, bags, chairs, novel items and even vehicles!

​

Once you have completed your foundations course, there are more courses, workshops and opportunities to join club sessions where we search different host venues including machinery, football grounds and cafes. You will also be eligible to join our operational workshops such as truffle hunting, people searching, water searching, explo detection work and more so you can get a feel for how real working dogs train!

​

Classes also available for dogs who may not cope in a group class environment due to anxiety or reactivity.

The course also provides you with handouts and your own starter kit so you can practise at home! £135 for 6 weeks.

Trail Hunt International​

Trail Hunt International is a brand new scent work sport blending both tracking and trailing where we teach your dog to follow a specific odour which we have laid in the environment.

​

This sport is accessible to all dogs and handlers and can be practised by yourself or with friends. Lay a trial anywhere, build your dog's confidence and meet those breed specific traits!

​

Ability to pass achievements, enter trials and tests and progress your trail hunt as far as you'd like.

​

Free registration to the Trail Hunt International Register which gives you a logbook and reg number as well as a complimentary starter kit to practise at home. £135 for 6 hours training across 4 sessions.​

​
